This is where my passion lies; coaching elite surfers and guiding them through their careers, helping them achieve their dreams. Motivating and encouraging athletes is what I love to do. Seeing the stoke in kids when they’ve mastered and improved a new skill is priceless and never gets old.

 

Over the years I’ve coached many athletes to National titles and pro junior event wins! The highlight was coaching the South African junior team to a silver medal at the World Junior surfing championships in Peron 2011.

 

My big break came when I coached and worked with Leon Glatzer and qualified him for the 2020 Olympics. This was an incredible four-year journey whilst I was head coach of the German Federation in 2020 and 2021.

 

My most recent success was with Adin Masencamp, whom I’ve been coaching since he was 9 years old, when he put on a stellar performance and took out the win overt Jordy Smith at the Balito pro.

Nothing will ever really replace good old fashioned on the beach coaching with video analysis. With the way the world is evolving digitally and the growth of surfing I believe online surf coaching is a very good alternative.

 

How it works and what you can expect:

Send in about 5-10 videos via we transfer once you’ve done this, I’ll spend some time going through the videos after which I’ll set up an online zoom call to go through the clips together.

 

After the call I’ll send you the documented notes taken during the zoom call and mail them to you and finally you’ll get a personalized, split screen feedback video of the turn we’re focused on improving. You’ll receive the feedback video via the ONFORM app where you’ll also receive your own personalized locker where all our online coaching videos, notes and messaging will be kept for your convenience.

 

I’m extremely excited about pursuing this and would like, with time, to become the most renown online surf coach in the world.

I had the privilege to work with the German team members, Leon Glatzer and Dylan Groen in 2018 here in South Africa and coached them on the WSL Africa leg of events. From here things snow balled and gained momentum after some great individual results.

 

The German Federation employed me to coach the Team at the Euro National where we achieved an incredible 3rd place, this is when Team Germany stated they were a world class Team. With great support and resources, I was able to take this talented team to 6th in the World and Olympic Qualification.

 

In 2019 I was nominated to be Head Coach of the German Surf federation.

 

With this experience I proved that I am one of the best coaches in the world and given the resources I can make athletes great and Federations succeed.

When I met Leon Glatzer in 2018, I was going through one of the worst chapters of my life getting divorced. I was using journaling to help me through this tough stage and by physically writing things down in found I was growing and healing.

 

I used this method to plan a career, create a vision, to set goals and give direction with Leon to become Olympian.

 

With this success I have become passionate about using the methods of journaling and writing your goals down to manifest your goals.

With the explosion of Wave Pools all over the world I had the privilege to world at The Wave in Bristol, England. I have found this environment incredibly advantageous to helping people improve their surfing no matter what level you’re at.
