MY PROFESSIONAL CAREER

I started surfing at the age of 10 and started competing at the age of 12 so you can say I’ve been competing my whole life. In my junior career, I made finals of every SA Junior Championship in my senior year of the age division from u/12 through to u/18.

Then I moved to Durban to study paramedics but this is when I got more motivated to surf than ever being in an environment of the most talented surfers in the world from 1997 – 2001.

After which I based myself in the UK and represented GB on the WQS where I consistently made the top 100 in the world this took place from about 2002 – 2007 – highlights were winning the Quiksilver Good Wave in 2003 and winning the UK triple crown in 2007.

My coaching career started in 2006 when I started to do learn to surf lessons in Newquay to make some extra money to compete on the WQS. This quickly escalated into coaching the GB junior team whilst still based in the UK, in 2008 I moved home to Mossel Bay, South Africa.

This is when my professional coaching career took off coaching many surfers such as Adin Masencamp, Ethan Fletcher, Max Elkington to multiple South African titles.

From 2008 to 2018 this was my only drive and passion for work, seeing these athletes grow and become amazing within themselves and gain incredible results. From 2018 please see Federation Team Coaching
