This is where my passion lies; coaching elite surfers and guiding them through their careers, helping them achieve their dreams. Motivating and encouraging athletes is what I love to do. Seeing the stoke in kids when they’ve mastered and improved a new skill is priceless and never gets old.
Over the years I’ve coached many athletes to National titles and pro junior event wins! The highlight was coaching the South African junior team to a silver medal at the World Junior surfing championships in Peru 2011.
My big break came when I coached and worked with Leon Glatzer and qualified him for the 2020 Olympics. This was an incredible four-year journey whilst I was head coach of the German Federation in 2020 and 2021.
My most recent success was with Adin Masencamp, whom I’ve been coaching since he was 9 years old when he put on a stellar performance and took out the win over Jordy Smith at the Balito pro.
